Tim has been interested in journalism and research going back to his High School days at Jesuit. He graduated college with a BA in Journalism from` North Texas and joined the Public Information staff at Central Louisiana Electric Company (CLECO).
He was the Executive Vice President of the Louisiana Jaycees, then embarked on his New Orleans-based advertising and marketing career first at Byrne, Watts, Storey Agency; moving on to Executive Vice President at Bauerlein agency, and later opened his own company, IDEAS of New Orleans. He served a wide variety of local, regional and national companies with particular emphasis on the financial services and hospitality industries.
In 2002, Tim was asked to host a radio show on WGSO 990AM, the Dine, Wine and Spirits Show was born. The daily program was at various times on the air anywhere from 1 hour long to 3 hours. Guests included important members of the wine trade located anywhere in the world. The show also reported on the results of competitions as well as breaking news of the hospitality industry. Along the way, for more than twenty years, Tim served as a professional wine and spirits judge for multiple competitions staged all over America and Europe.
Tim also was a founding Member of the Board for the Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans, and along with his wife, Brenda Maitland, a noted lifestyle writer for regional publications, was involved in founding the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience, now celebrating 30 years of annual shows and sponsored restaurant dinner experiences.
